Warren Moss
Founder & CEO
As the Founder and CEO of Demographica, Warren is responsible for setting the company strategy to achieve its goal of being the greatest B2B marketing agency in the world.
A core focus of his is to keep Demographica’s capabilities on the cutting edge of B2B marketing agency services to drive results for all its clients. He has had the honour of being a judge for the Business Marketing Association’s B2B Awards and the Global DMA Echo Awards.
In South Africa, he was the Chairman of the Direct Marketing Association’s Assegai Awards and was a judge for the Internet Advertising Bureau’s Bookmark Awards. He also sits on the Advisory Council of the Harvard Business Review covering B2B marketing. Previously he was Chairman of the Direct Marketing Association of South Africa and sat on the board of the Johannesburg chapter of Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO) as the Marketing and Communications Chair. Outside of Demographica, his passion is African contemporary art, and he is both a private dealer and an avid collector. His two recommended professional books would be ‘Ogilvy on Advertising’ and ‘Purple Cow’.
Gugu Shabalala
Head: Strategy
Gugu Shabalala is a strategic partner who takes an integrated approach to life and work. She believes in aligning her values and passions with her professional endeavours to maximise her effectiveness. Gugu is particularly enthusiastic about issues related to women’s empowerment, young leadership, as well as diversity and inclusion, with a keen focus on black female leadership.
In her career, she has leveraged her understanding of human behaviour, communication principles, and marketing and economic acumen to shape and guide impactful solutions for brands across various industries, including financial services, FMCG, alcoholic beverages, and fashion retail. She has worked on some of South Africa’s most beloved and effective brands and campaigns, always striving to create sustainable and fulfilling work experiences for herself and her team.
Her approach to work is marked by rigour, focus, and simplicity, with a touch of magic. She believes that creative effectiveness is a key driver of growth and aims to help clients achieve commercial success while making their brands famous through award-winning creative work.
Gugu has recently joined us as Head of Strategy. She was drawn in by our human-first approach and is committed to making positive and progressive contributions to the world through our work. Gugu intends to build on Demographica’s legacy of strategic strength and foster an environment that produces impactful and clear thinking.
Taking on the B2B marketing sector is a new and exciting challenge for her, and she is determined to move forward with ‘guts and grace.’ With her passion for creative effectiveness and her dedication to making a difference, Gugu is poised to make a significant impact in her new role.
Marloe Wise
Chief Client Officer
Marloe Wise joined Demographica in 2009. Marloe has, alongside her team, grown Demographica from a small business into what it is today – a specialist B2B Marketing Agency. Marloe has worn multiple hats within the agency, including Marketing, Client Success, as well as Head of Growth where she is currently responsible for the commercial growth of the agency by acquiring new clients and growing existing client portfolios – thereby contributing to Demographica’s strategic growth year on year.
Experienced in client relationship management, commercial and revenue management, as well as overall client health, Marloe’s passion lies in working alongside clients to understand their business objectives and then carving out the scope of work that not only meets their expectations but exceeds their objectives too. She thrives on winning new business for the agency and more importantly growing existing clients by working closely with Client Success to drive this objective home.
With her calm and ‘in it together’ approach, Marloe is known for her exceptional understanding of the agency’s B2B capabilities, her ability to distil information accurately and effectively, and her way around numbers and commercial acumen.
Marloe spends her spare time with her family and friends who are very important in her world. She is an absolute foodie and enjoys being out and about and experiencing new things.
Claire Denham-Dyson
Head: Anthropology
Current Head of Anthropology, Claire Denham-Dyson initially joined Demographica as a Business Anthropologist in 2015. Claire studied Anthropology, English, and Gender Studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT) where she received her Honours Degree in Anthropology. In 2019, Claire completed her Masters Degree at the University of Liverpool in Organisational and Business Psychology to fully round off her expertise in human behaviour and business decision-making.
Claire heads up the Anthropology team, which consists of one permanent and one freelance Anthropologist. Her key focus at Demographica is developing the anthropological research offerings – educating both the agency and the industry around immersive, qualitative research and working in the field seeking human insights that inform our B2B work.
Claire has spoken at numerous conferences and/or events for both marketing and B2B industries. In 2022, she was a panellist for the Liberty Leading Edge Webinar Series and prior to this she contributed to Investec Working Lunches, the Discovery Marketing Conference, the Anthropology Southern Africa Conference in Venda, and regularly writes for the Future of Media Digital Supplement as well as BizCommunity. She is also the 2017 recipient of the Young Direct Marketer’s Award.
Outside of formally stalking business people, Claire sings in the Johannesburg Queer Chorus, does pole and yoga, and is deeply invested in the wellbeing of her Sims family.
Prianca Pillai
Head: Operations
As Head of Operations at Demographica, Prianca Pillai is responsible for the daily functioning of our business. With an eye for precision and a heart for innovation, she ensures that our teams, processes, and tools are in alignment to create exceptional experiences for Demographicans as well as our clients.
With over 11 years of expertise in B2B marketing, Prianca’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Joining Demographica in 2017, her passion for content marketing has been a driving force, where she sees boundless opportunities for creativity and authentic audience connections.
Prianca’s story at Demographica began with client success, where she developed a comprehensive understanding of the B2B marketing ecosystem. This background fuels her empathetic approach, allowing her to deliver outstanding results while addressing the unique challenges our clients face. Her greatest strength lies in her unwavering determination to overcome obstacles and achieve success, stirring in herself the B2B architect of operational excellence.
Beyond the office, Prianca is a devoted mother of two precious children and two fur babies. She cherishes cooking for her loved ones and spending quality time with her large, extended family, embodying the perfect balance of professional dedication and personal warmth.

OUR STORY
Our journey began in 2006 under the name Global Acquisition – a dynamic anti-establishment startup focused on smart, targeted digital communication using big data analytics to drive marketing communication. Over the following few years, the entrepreneurial nature of the company led to an evolution of the business model and was then restructured in 2010 to form Demographica.
It was around this time that Demographica founder, Warren Moss, read an article published in the Harvard Business Review titled “An Anthropologist Walks into a Bar”, the study described how companies were making marketing breakthroughs by using anthropology to inform sales and marketing strategy. Coupled with a focus on B2B marketing, the article changed the course of Demographica’s history.
From these disruptive and innovative beginnings, Demographica has grown into a leading and global award winning B2B marketing agency. Today, Demographica is one of the largest employers of anthropologists in South Africa and boasts a client roster of not only South Africa’s largest B2B brands but also, some of the biggest B2B brands on earth. Our innovative approach has attracted top business minds from around the globe, allowing us to assemble a client portfolio that we are exceptionally proud of.
