Demographica is a marketing agency that helps large B2B companies grow their revenue in Africa by transforming how we engage buyers, grow customers and enable their marketing and sales teams. Main purpose of role

Responsible for producing creative Copy/Content that is compelling, considered and on brief

Working from brief with the creative team, generating concepts and copy to consider (and sometimes present to the client)

This position is expected to conceptualize and work with the strategy communications team including the Anthropologists to produce outstanding award winning B2B creative work within the scope of the brand and creative brief supplied by client.

Key responsibilities:   

      • Ensure original, relevant and impactful communications from concept to execution- maintaining explicit attention to detail and managing deadlines
      • Working strategy into creative concepts- bridging the gap between strategy, business objectives and creativity
      • Crafting copy
      • Originating and producing effective B2B creative work
      • Conceptualise copywriting and craft concepts adding value to each brief or supporting team
      • Craft copy into original, relevant and impactful communications
      • To develop the overall direction and tone of the copy as well as correct, guide and execute copy changes and action briefs
      • To work with colleagues to smooth running of all related studio activities which ultimately result in delivery to client
      • Produce creative work that shows ideation and demonstrates an understanding of strategy
      • Ensure adherence to client/brand CI when producing work
      • Working with team including Senior Copywriter, Content Writer (designer and Art Director) to ensure creative work produced is on-brief and ahead of deadline
      • Ownership of your role includes: Taking a brief, Conceptualisation, Writing and may include presentation
      • Brand tonality aligned to client CI and brief/requirements
      • Supporting team on projects from inception to completion under their guidance
      • You are required to develop an understanding of the full range of services Demographica offers and be able to work with Centre of Excellence to learn and grow

Expected at this level:            

      • Crafting copy to produce messaging resulting in an effective campaign
      • Produce writing (for any format -long or short- required) from inception through to revisions also being able to edit and revise work (of self and team) and sometimes Proofread/QA
      • Understanding of timing plans and ensure no deadlines are missed
      • Copy supplied in requested format
      • Systematic approach to each brief
      • Implement direction set by Client Success team, Ops and Studio Lead
      • Learn how to improve your interpretation of (and delivery against) design briefs by asking the right questions from the outset
      • You are required to have an understanding to the Client brand and CI
      • An understanding of how to achieve and develop creative thinking (support client brief) to achieve clients’ needs – and result in successful, approved creative work
      • Good time-management
      • Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel
      • Ability to communicate clearly via email and in person
      • Implement direction set by Client Success and Strat where relevant
      • Understand how to manage integration between various agencies working on the client’s account
      • Understanding of the B2B production process across all communication channels including print, digital, mobile, activations and DM
      • To support creative thinking and share thinking
      • Take criticism/feedback and apply changes or motivate for the changes not to be made 
      • Check every aspect of every job thus eliminating errors and work going out is of the highest quality including the work from outsourced partners
      • Create B2B ATL, BTL and Digital crafted copy

Day-to-Day expectation:        

      • Crafting copy
      • Work on creative projects from the starting point of initiating creative proposals and project plans, through to project completion. 
      • Crafting copy to produce messaging resulting in an effective campaign
      • Produce writing (for any format -long or short- required) from inception through to revisions also being able to edit and revise work (of self and team) and sometimes Proofread/QA
      • Support Production & Execution in terms of active understanding of the brief, deliverables and timing.
      • Support team to enable execution of deliverables to manage the creative & technical work activities relating to the client requirement/brief
      • To ensure smooth running of all internal activities which ultimately result in delivery to client
      • To assist in solving problems
      • Maintain regular communication between Studio and other CoE (specifically Ops, Production and Client Service)
      • Working closely with the (Creative Director), Studio Lead, Copywriter, Content Writer, designer and Art Director which informs the expectation on the Studio
      • Learn to balance the creative vision and objectives with running an efficient, lean and effective team.
      • Understand and groom your eye for detail in terms of standard of completion of projects
      • Monitor, check and update all creative work is shared internally on-time and saved in the appropriate place
      • Timings are discussed and agreed to up-front

Minimum Requirements:

      • An industry relevant qualification in Copy, Journalism, PR, Marketing, Communications or Advertising
      • Alternatively, or additionally, you have a business Degree or Tertiary practical/technical Diploma/Certificate
      • Minimum 8 years’ experience working in Copywriting, PR, Creative writing or Social Media content/writing role
      • Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite Software Applications
      • Working experience in a B2B environment or working on B2B brands
      • Understanding of the relevant structures and processes in the agency
